E Vision: Keeping You
Connected and Visible

Do I dare admit that like the cobbler with barefoot children I have been an email marketer without a newsletter?

The good news is that it has been a busy and exciting two years for Business EVision - we really have been Making E Marketing A Reality and having fun doing it!

After gaining experience with a local Email Service Provider (ESP), it became apparent that there are many businesses and organization who would like to use email marketing and do not have the time, help or expertise to make it a reality.

I set about getting it done for them because of the tremendous value I see in staying in touch and marketing this way. Everything I read says this is the "wave for the future."

Being a Southern Californian, I am compelled to catch that wave!

So... you are receiving this compelling body of work because you are a client, colleague or friend. Or, we have, what the Can-Spam Act of 2003 refers to as, “an implied business relationship” - meaning at the very least we have met and exchanged business cards.

Whatever the relationship, I hope you find value and enjoyment in this offering and look forward to the next edition.

And finally, if you have any questions, need clarity, would like a topic covered in more depth or have a topic you would like explored, send me a note – I will respond to you directly or include it in a newsletter.

Welcome to E Vision!

Best,

Bruce

Testimonial:

"The newsletter I created with Bruce through Business EVision paid for itself within the first month by immediately connecting me with past clients in a manner they appreciated. I engaged three past clients and two new clients in new business as direct result of my ability to quickly and personally connect with my customer base electronically. And now my clients tell me they look forward to receiving my monthly message. The immediacy of email marketing enables me also to rapidly respond to market conditions."

About Email Marketing

In the world of email marketing there is an abundance of fascinating and informative facts, figures and tips that I would like to share with you - then again, I live in this world which no doubt helps with the "fascinating" part!

In any event, here are the first offerings -

Dollars and Sense: “$200 million will generate $6 billion”

This is my favorite fact.

It is estimated that $200 million will be spent on email marketing in 2008.

That $200 million will produce $6 BILLION in revenue!

Do the math - that's $46 for every $1 spent!

Fact - email marketing produces the highest ROI of any type of marketing.

What is the next highest? Catalogs at $17 for each $1 spent.

Tip: Building Lists

The most commonly expressed sentiment when approaching a potential client about engaging in email marketing is “I don’t have a list”, or “I don’t have a very big list, it won't be worth it.”

There are many ways to build or compile lists and if you get start now you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly your list will grow. Just think, if you don't begin now your list will be the same size next year!

Ron Evans, the President of Great Big Noise, LLC, a provider of Flash Email Marketing Campaigns, created an article that talks about the challenges facing both large and small companies in building their email lists. He provides specifics on making use of networking meetings, trade shows, seminars, etc and outlines specifics that you can do to build your list.

You can find this article (and many others) on iContact's Resources page and you can print a two page PDF version by clicking here.

Answer: "Only 350 people opened my newsletter - that doesn't seem like very many...."

It is not about the actual number who open or make use of the clicks, it about the percentage - which of course leads to the question, "What is a good percentage rate for opens?"

The short answer - there is no short answer! Generally, a mid-twenties open rate is pretty good. I have some customers with open rates nearing 50%.

It is really all about your relationship with your recipient and what service or product your are offering - the stronger your relationship, the higher your open rate and the lower your unsubscribe rate.

As varied the services and products being offered, so goes the the statistics. Take a look...
